Tyre Labelling

The European Union from 1st May 2021 onwards introduced several changes in the tyre labelling regulations. As per these guidelines, all tyres must have EU tyre labels on them.

At ESS (NORTH WALES) LIMITED, we only retail products that abide by the latest EU-tyre labelling regulations. You can explore our wide collection of car tyres Deeside by visiting our facility or buying tyres from us online.

That said, here are the changes that were brought in the tyre labelling guidelines:

Wet Grip

As per the latest rules, the wet grip rating will range from A to E. This means that tyres with an "A" grade will offer the best short-braking performance on wet roads, while those with an "E" grade will provide the worst.

Fuel Efficiency

Similarly, the fuel efficiency will also range from A to E. Tyres with an “A” rating will lower the rolling resistance and consume less fuel. On the other hand, models with an “E” rating will have high rolling resistance.

Noise Emission

Tyres will now come with an ABC noise rating. The ones with an "A" rating will emit the lowest external noise, while those with a "B" will emit high noise. Nevertheless, tyres with a "C" grade are banned.

Other Changes

Besides, there are several other rules that you should be aware of while buying new car tyres Deeside. These are as follows:

  • Winter tyres from Nordic will now come with a stalagmite symbol.
  • Tyres manufactured for snow performance must have a 3PMSF symbol.
  • Every tyre must have a QR code which will fetch the data directly from the EU database.
